Another Beautiful Berry

Oops! I forgot to include this photo of Bristly Sarsaparilla (Aralia hispida) in my last post about beautiful berries. I actually photographed it a year ago near the Sherman Island boat launch along the Hudson River at Moreau. This species of sarsaparilla is about as uncommon as its cousin Wild Sarsaparilla (A. nudicaulis) is ubiquitous. And its blue-black berries on pinky-purple pedicels are about as pretty as its tiny yellow-green flowers are plain. I just wanted to show them to you.

Thanks for all the beautiful berries! And that hornets' nest was awesome -- don't you want to go back after it gets cooler and collect it for me, I really need a new one for my wasp program ;)
