For more than thirty years I've been wandering the woods and waterways of Saratoga County, New York, and regions nearby, looking closely, listening carefully, and recording what I experience. We are blessed in this region with an amazing amount of wilderness right at hand. With this blog I share my year-round adventures here, seeking out what wonders await in my own Madagascar close to home.

Spring!
A pair of Buffleheads finds open water on Lake George, first day of Spring, 2011.
Hi Carolyn, I saw from your blog that your snow is all gone. Thanks for giving us hope that spring will get here soon. Yes, I also love those many shades of blue. But I'd sure like to see some green!
I love all the blue in your photo today! My snow is gone down here, but I had sleet this morning--in a thunderstorm!
