Here are a few more photos from yesterday's hike through the Palmertown Mountains at Moreau Lake State Park. I was going to toss them for being redundant or imperfect, but hey, they aren't that bad! And they do add a little more detail about these splendid trails.

Huge erratic boulders were plunked down in the forest by the retreating glaciers.
Spring-watered rocks offer habitat for mosses, lichens, liverworts, and ferns.
Long-fallen tree trunks provide fertile ground for beautiful mosses and lichens.
Isn't it amazing how trees find a way to root and grow right out of the cracks in the rocks?
Water, water, everywhere! With recent rains, all brooks were full to overflowing.
I love the rock faces! There seem to be lots of great rock faces at Moreau...another reason I have to go there!
