(we call it 'the ledges) - that is my ancestral home below you in that photo, a.k.a. 'Clothier Hollow.' I grew up in the A-frame right next to one of the trail entrances. I like to think of all my readers coming along with me on my adventures, and your interest makes it worth the work to keep posting. As for how I get such photos, I have to give praise to my Canon PowerShot G7, with its amazing macro optics. When it focusses on what I want it to, that is. For each shot I keep, I probably throw away a couple of dozen.Jacqueline Donnellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13390548854179921303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2662118368553266438.post-80649542398927724012010-05-06T19:37:50.254-04:002010-05-06T19:37:50.254-04:00Yep, that one looks like my snake I saw the other ...Yep, that one looks like my snake I saw the other day. Our UK newts are quite plain in comparison, that colour is amazing and something we definitely don't see.

I have never ever been able to smell a sweet violet properly. I have a crummy sense of smell and I think they are too elusive for me. Such a disappointment, as I do love to smell flowers - I will persevere as there seem to be a lot out at the moment.

It's lovely to be back and reading here again - always such a fascinating variety of things to see, so interesting, and always fun to read.Birdhttp://www.thebirdsinthemeadow.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2662118368553266438.post-24659084544036114462010-05-06T09:12:48.264-04:002010-05-06T09:12:48.264-04:00Thanks Sue and Jackie for sharing a wonderful day....Thanks Sue and Jackie for sharing a wonderful day.Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05480832246751473066noreply@blogger.com
