Jackie and the Giant Flowerstalks

I am not sitting down in this photo. I am standing as tall as my 5' 8" frame will reach, and the goldenrod still towers way over my head. Have you ever seen goldenrod so TALL? Or, for that matter, almost all the roadside weeds: Teasel, Sweet Clover, Queen Anne's Lace, etc.? Must be all the rain we had this summer. And still are having. What a strange year!

I love goldenrod, but wow!

Funny, I was thinking today the jewelweed plants seem awfully tall this year, and I saw a white baneberry that appeared a bit oversized as well (and seemed to have more than the typical amount of berries). Oh and there's huge raspberries in my yard, almost matchbook-sized!

Hee hee hee - I love this shot!

How interesting that some plants thrive in the wet, growing to great heights and amazing us with their prowess, while others are dwarfed and runty, seeming to barely survive the excess moisture.

Mother nature is full of wonders!
